Jordan (minus petra)

On top of Mt. Nebo where Moses viewed the promised land and where he was taken up

Madaba Map inside the St. George church.  This is the oldest map of ancient Israel and its a mosaic on the floor of a church.

Machaerus. This is where they think John the Baptist was held prisoner and executed.  Everyone was really hot so they all sat in the shade of the pillars. Jordan in particular was just really hot so everyone took advantage of whatever shade they could get.

Some castle we visited in Jordan.  I think it was just a cool sight cause our professors didn't talk to us about it at all.  Also I thought it was fitting for me to get a picture in front of it ;)

By the Jabbok river where Jacob wrestled with and angel.

The temple of Artemis. These pillars in Jerash rocked back and forth.  The spoon in the picture on the right moved up and down as the pillar rocked back and forth.

We LOVE pillars!!!
All of these pictures were taken in Jerash which is the best preserved Roman city.

The Jordan River where Christ was baptized
